I Enter Too Many Giveaways...

I'm really awful at this whole consistency-at-blogging thing. Gomenasai !!!!!!! *bows repeatedly*

I could probably write more if it weren't the last 3 weeks of school, and then exams. It's just an overall hectic time. It doesn't help that we had two beautiful mild, sunny days, and then out of nowhere we get a snowstorm. Sigh.

Anyway, I just wanted to share a pretty sweet giveaway for NAIL POLISH! It's China Glaze's new Avant Garden collection. Isn't that the cutest name for a collection ever? It's got beautiful pastels and also more vivid, rich colors, all in time for spring. Whenever that decides to come to Toronto, am I right?

You do need to be a US resident, or at least have a someone who lives in the US to ship it to, in order to be eligible to win. International shipping will not be available for this giveaway.
If you're qualified, check out:

Woops...

Heh. I haven't posted in a while, have I? No...

Well I'm back. I had a lovely(ish) reading week. Didn't do much reading, but there you go. University students need a break, and so I breaked so hard that.. I broke?

Anyway, I bought quite a bit of stuff this month that I wanted to share because, I don't know, perhaps some people want to know. Or are at least interested. So here we go:

I signed up for the Tarte e-Newsletter and was sent a 20% off coupon as a "thank you" (perhaps?)
Now, before you go telling me that Tarte does Friends and Family Sales twice a year for 30% off, I know. Trust me, I wish I could spend less. However, Tarte only ships to the US and I happen to live in Canada. One nice boy from my German Literature class happens to be American, and has agreed to let me ship the items to him, and when he goes home to visit, he'll return with my items. What a nice guy, eh?

Also, I don't really want to have to wait until July or August, and I have a feeling everything I'd want would sell out really fast anyway. Also, that guy I mentioned may not be in Canada at all during that time and I might have to wait until September! UGH!
Anyway, without further ado, here's what I got from Tarte Cosmetics:

Ah, yes. The "oh-so-famous" Exposed. Although it may look a bit brown, I sense some pinky plum, and I wear a similar blush color nearly everyday.

Dollface isn't really this bright in real life. It's much paler, but is apparently gives a really nice natural flush.

Blissful is similar to a blush I own. Everyone says this shade is perfect for spring and summer.

This Park Ave Princess bronzer is matte and also waterproof, which makes no sense to me. I've never worn bronzer before, but I wanted a matte one to "warm up" my face in the summer because of the next thing I purchased...

tarte Amazonian Clay Full-Coverage Foundation SPF 15 w/Brush
I purchased the Amazonian Clay Full-Coverage Foundation (in the shade Light) with their Buffer Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush. While it does match my face almost perfectly, I don't want to have to buy another shade just for the summer when I tan a little. I bought the bronzer to "darken" the foundation a little, since I normally apply "Transclucent" powder which makes me look a little lighter.

So yeah. That's my "Tarte Cosmetics" haul, I suppose. I saved quite a bit of money in general, and especially compared to buying them from a Canadian Sephora. So, hurray!

Have you tries any of these products? Do you love them or hate them?

Thanks for reading!

Tomorrow is Friday, and Saturday is afterwaaarrrddsss

So, I made a "new years resolution" to stop using foundation for all of 2012. And I totally kept that resolution for 99.9% of 2012. New Years Eve was an exception because I was working for 10 hours that night, and didn't want to scare anyone. The reason I decided to stop using foundation was because mine was breaking me out, and I just didn't feel natural wearing it.

Fast forward to February 2013. Tarte Cosmetics came out with some fancy schmancy Journey To Natural Beauty kit. Now, I had heard about Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blushes before and I really wanted to buy one. But to pay like 40-50 dollars for a blush is kind of ridiculous. The longwear was what intrigued me, and apparently it had really good pigmentation. Needless to say, I still don't own one. I can't justify spending that much on anything that small, and I don't really have to money for it anyway.

Also included in the 6 piece kit is their Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Foundation with SPF 15. It's supposed to be oil free, and I haven't heard or read of anyone breaking out because of it. A lot of people with acne or acne scarring RAVE about it being their "holy grail" foundation. According to most people, it feels very smooth and light on the skin, as if you're not wearing a full-coverage foundation. Which, to me, sounds WONDERFUL. So I check on Sephora Canada and see that it retails for $49 a tube.
UM.
No.
I'm sorry, I don't have a full time job that pays me a lot. I have only worked once at my part-time job and still haven't been paid yet! My dad is retired and my mom is self-employed. The only one who could possibly buy this for me is my boyfriend, and he's back in school so he isn't generating any income. PLUS, even if I wanted to buy this kit, or any Tarte Cosmetics for a cheaper price than is sold in Canada, Tarte and QVC do not even ship outside the U.S.

Life is tough haha.
Oh well. I entered AprilAthena's giveaway in hopes of winning the kit, but I'm not counting on winning. Maybe mid-May I can beg my boyfriend to buy me both the foundation and the blush, but I still feel awful asking him for anything.

WHY IS MAKEUP SO EXPENSIVE?

Happy Tuesday!
I got my free 30ml hand cream from L'Occitane En Provence today! Did you get yours?

I ended up sleeping in today. Although I had a class at 10:00 AM, I forced myself to attend my 2:00PM class.
I am still not over my cold/flu/disaster.
For those of you who don't know, I got sick after New Years because I worked until 3AM. It was freezing that morning, and I didn't get home until 5:30AM! Most of the time was spent walking and waiting in the cold, since buses were either non-existent or on limited routes and schedules. Needless to say, I got very sick. I've had a weak immune system since I was a kid, and being loaded with antibiotics to protect the hole in my heart never gave my body a chance to learn how to fight for itself. Therefore, my colds last approximately 3-4 weeks.

I was finally starting to get better, and then I got a suspicious cough. Which led to an extremely high fever. And then a sinus infection, ear infection, eye infection AND bronchitis. I ended up missing 4 full days of school. Luckily most of the stuff I "missed" were things I had to read at home anyway or homework assignments. Nothing major. Though I did make my way to school during my illness for a mid-term.

Yesterday was my first "full day" back to school. Needless to say, my body couldn't handle it and so this morning, I couldn't get out of bed.

Oh well. As my blog name suggests, I should take things day by day. Stressing and overworking myself will only make things worse. I just have to remember to take deep breaths (try not to cough) and do the best with what I have.

A New Beginning

Howdy.

I decided to make a Blogger/Blogspot because Livejournal is being completely ridiculous.
I haven't blogged or journaled in over 4 years!
Not to mention, I won't be a "blogger" in the sense that I will be spewing out daily/weekly content for my viewers.

AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT.

University is way too much work, and I'm attending one of the most "prestigious" so I don't really have the extra time for goofing about. I just thought it would be nice to write down my thoughts once in a while, instead of only writing because I have to.

If you decide to follow along on my journey, go ahead by all means! Have a seat and grab a mug of tea.
Just be warned that I'm not as fun as I was 5+ years ago. Maybe I've just "grown up"?

Anyway, I should get back to Rilke's "Carousel" poem. Oh, German Literature, how I loathe you...
